Myth: Colonics Will Destroy Your Gut Bacteria
I get this alot.
I’m not sure who perpetuates this myth, but it’s the most common question I’m asked when new clients come in.
Usually a doctor family member has spread this fear to others, and since it comes from “authority” they we accept it as truth.
The truth is, doctor’s do not research this.
Pharma doesn’t research this.
Why would they? No money in it here.
But other countries see value in holistic approach DO study this.
And Americans, so arrogant are we, we only accept info published in “distinguished” journals.
Meaning, more often than not, who paid the most, or who knew someone who got that info published.
So I don’t put much into that source anyway, though I do value true objective science when it doesn’t include a financial interest component.
In any event, if you would like to read the study “The Influence of Colonic Irrigation on Human Intestinal Microbiota” By Yoko Uchiyama-Tanaka Yoko Clinic Japan, it is attached here.
I see a biome that is clearly out of balance. As above, so below. Look at Mother Earth? How could our bowel stay in balance with GMO foods, soil depletion, food transportation around the globe, and non organic or hybridized foods?
Water is a fantastic solvent to eliminate bad and overabundance of pathogens and have the system rebalance.
It’s like brushing your teeth. The minute you put down the toothbrush, the bacteria is already getting back to business.
Remember, that’s the top of the anus!
But I will insert a disclaimer.
Some individuals are so weakened, so depleted, so imbalanced, that sometimes a colon lavage cleanse will leave them a bit more weakened. This is why it is important that a practitioner take in your health history, meet them so they can be the observer to help you on your journey. There was a loss of bacteria but not microbiota.
Do your own research on yourself.
Find your own medicine.
It’s just how it works here on the planet. 🙂
